The elder brother's road
Paddy is the elder of the two Walsh brothers, described by Irish media as a Kerry/Munster boxer and listed by BoxRec as resident in Dublin. His nickname dates back to the flashy shorts he wore around age thirteen — an authentic detail that has followed him into the professional ranks.
His documented amateur background includes Irish championship competition with Sliabh Luachra — the club the Walsh family coached within — though his public amateur ledger is fragmentary and presented as such. Like Liam, he has trained under Tony Davitt and banked valuable sparring with Stevie McKenna, among the most respected operators in Irish boxing.

The Celtic-title contest that did not happen
Paddy was publicly matched with Luke Bibby for the vacant BUI Celtic lightweight title on 20 June 2026. He withdrew on medical advice and the contest did not take place. No diagnosis has been published, and none should be inferred. His return will be announced once his team confirms readiness.

Consistency as a weapon
Paddy's strength to date is repeatable, professional round-winning: he has boxed at four and six rounds across five venues in two countries and spoken about treating his early career as an apprenticeship — learning pacing, distance and discipline before chasing honours.
He has publicly welcomed domestic rivals at 135 or 140 lb. The next twelve months are designed to answer the open questions: power against peers, adaptability when tested, and performance over eight and ten rounds.
